In this lesson you will be creating three quarter bar fills from sixteenth note triplets, meaning you will get some really quick patterns. When learning each example below, start out at a really low tempo and gradually increase speed as you get more comfortable. This is important as it will allow you to make sure all strokes are being played at an even dynamic level as well as in time. At the bottom of the page you will find a collection of lessons you will find helful.
Each exercise contains a one beat of groove followed by three beats of sixteenth note triplet fill.
- Using the 2 minute rule, get all exercises up to a tempo of at least 135bpm.
- Add each example into one of the structures we have covered previously.
- Create your own fill pattern using these concepts.
- Use various feet patterns in each fill.
