Half Time Level 0 Grooves With A 16th Snare On The 'e' After 1

In this lesson you will be taking some half time level 0 grooves and adding a snare on the 'e' after count 1. The aim here is to give you a new groove construction idea but also to work on the accuracy of notes placed in between hi hats, otherwise known as offbeat sixteenths. TASK

  • Using the 2 minute rule, get all grooves up to a tempo of at least 140bpm.
  • Create your own variations on these patterns by reorchestrating or altering rhythm.
  • Use the grooves in a piece or song.
