In this collection of eight bar patterns you will be getting more familiar with both Swing Time and Two Bar Grooves. The patterns presented below are just a combination of those two groove construction methods with some fills added in the final bar. The fills will either use swung eighths, like the right hand through the groove but Single Stroke Triplets will also be common. I strongly advise looking through all lessons linked above before trying the exercises below.
Below are a few examples of an A A A B structures using the concepts mentioned above. Various ideas for fill and groove construction have been used. When you have learned the given examples have a go at creating your own parts. The structure for the examples will be this:

REMEMBER the marking above the first bar tells you that this pattern is in swung time. So any time you see two eighth notes in a row they are played as a triplet with the middle note missing
