Through this lesson you will be learning a new foot ostinato that will involve playing the basic one note sixteenth groupings on the feet. This is a great exercise in foot strength and stamina as you will get longer runs of sixteenths in a row and we are going to be doing this with both feet.
At the bottom of the page you will find a collection of links to other lessons that will be helpful when learning this exercises. With each, start out at a low tempo while you get familiar with the nmovements used then gradually increase the speed. At all times keep an eye on technique and make sure which ever foot you are playing lines up accurately with the appropriate hand.
- Using the 2 minute rule, get all exercises up to a tempo of 140bpm.
- Play each rhythm using both feet at the same time.
- Apply this movements to other rudiments.
- Orchestrate the hands.
