In this lesson you will be expanding on the original train groove concept (linked below) by applying a new rhythm for the accents. The part will still be based around that original single stroke idea but accents will fall in a standard '233' style rhythm. If this terminology is un-familiar there are several lessons linked at the bottom of the page that will help. This rhythm only takes up half of the bar so it can either be played twice or used in a sort of half bar fill style. The accented rhythm the hands will play is shown below, I have included counting and sticking as one of the accents falls on a left hand.
All grooves below will use this hand pattern so it is essential you can play it accurately. When learning this part, make sure the accents stand out from the standard notes. Listed below are several versions of this concept with various different kick patterns applied and with various placements of the new accent pattern. Remember, start at a low tempo and build up speed gradually. It is far more important to get the part accurate. This is by no means an exhaustive list, use the given parts as a basis to create and experiment with your own parts.
