Two Beat 8th Note Triplet Fills In 5/4

In this lesson you will be learning some two beat fills in the time signature of 5/4 that all use 8th note triplets orchestrated around the kit in simple movements. These patterns will use similar movements to first orchestrations you will have learned so it is just the idea of placing these movements at the end of a bar of 5/4 you will need to focus on. In the full bar version of this fill idea there was an issue with sticking and the pattern ending on an odd hand. This isn't the case here as two beats worth of triplet falls nicely.

At the bottom of this page you will find a list of links to other lessons you may find useful when learning these parts. If at any point you find yourself struggling with a fill, have a look through some of these.

Take your time when learning these parts. Whilst the fills themselves may be familiar, the application within the time signature probably isn't. The transition from groove to fill and back to groove again is incredibly important, make sure your timing doesn't slip here.
