Groups Of Imitated Double Kick Fours With The Kick First

The fills presented in this lesson are based on our double kick imitation fours exercise but with the feet played first. These patterns will be constructed in a similar way to our to our lesson on the same concept applied to groups of two and you can find these articles linked at the bottom of the page. The patterns are built of four 16th notes on the feet played over the two feet, followed by the same rhythm played on the hands as single strokes. These fills are relatively simple sounding but can be very effective, particularly when higher tempos are used. Listed below are various ideas for orchestrating the hands using different movements on the hands.

At the bottom of the page you will find a list of lessons you may find useful in the learning process.
