Triple Paradiddle In Groups Of Four

This lessons follows on from our Triple Paradiddle With Each Hand On A Different Drum lesson. It will be much easier to follow if you are familiar with the content from that lesson.

Continuing with ideas for orchestrating a triple paradiddle, in this lesson you will be taking the basic rudiment as sixteenth notes and splitting it into groups of four. Each of these groups of four will then be played on a different drum. These exercises will be pretty straight forward as you will only be using four different parts of the kit. The intention here is to get your comfortable with moving the rudiment around the kit in 'blocks' of a set number whilst playing triple paradiddles and you will be expanding on this in later lessons. These patterns will work well as fills without any adjustment, but as with the double stroke roll a single stroke sticking would be more appropriate in that situation.

An interesting feature of moving this way using this rudiment is that halfway through the bar you will get a sort of switch in direction as the sticking reverses.

Feet have been included all exercises.
