Single Stroke Roll Orchestration || Groups Of Six

In this free single stroke roll orchestration lesson you will continue learning ideas for moving a single stroke roll around different parts of the kit. All examples given on this page involve taking two full bars of sixteenth notes and splitting them across various drums in blocks of six, creating syncopation against the blocks of four you would expect in a bar of 4/4. Similar movements have been used in other lessons and you can find links to these at the bottom of the page. You can fit five groupings of six over two bars of 4/4 but the last of these ends on an eighth note. All strokes should be even in terms of rhythm and dynamics, pay close attention to this when learning each exercise.

I haven't included any feet in the given parts, experiment with differet ideas starting out with straight rhythms. These will help emphasize the syncopation in the grouping of the hands but also increase the difficulty considerably.
