The Swiss Army Triplet Played On The Hands And Feet

In this lesson you will be expanding on the Single and Double stroke roll played on the hands and feet lessons by using the swiss army triplet as a basis.

You will be given two sets exercises, each based on a different note value, one using double kick and one using the left foot on the hi hat. The aim of these is to improve your foot work both in terms of co ordination and stamina. When playing these exercises make sure your left foot is playing at the same volume as the right. As this is generally your weaker foot it may need some attention. You can also use the snare notes to make sure the feet are playing exactly in time.

Quarter Note Triplet Exercises

You will start with a very slow version of the exercise using quarter note triplets. This will familiarize you with the way the hands and feet work together and get your left foot working a bit more before you start speeding things up in the next two exercises.

Eighth Note Triplet Exercises

Next you are going to double up the note values and play the same part as eighth note triplets. Nothing has changed here except the speed of the exercise.
