In this lesson you will be adding a 16th note offbeat kick on the '+' count after beat 4 which will be immediately after the main back beat snare. The rhythm of this extra note will be quite similar to that used in other lessons so it would be beneficial to cover some of these first. You can find a collection of links to these at the bottom of the page.
Written below is a basic 6/8 groove with the additional kick included. Check you have the counting correct then play the pattern until you are comfortable. When you can repeat the groove over and over at a decent tempo with no mistakes, have a go at learning the grooves listed below which are variations on this basic pattern.
