In this lesson you will be learning some more complex Accent placements for the double stroke triplet. In all of the exercises presented on this page you will be accenting the first left hand in a double stroke. This will be tricky as you will be playing an accented stroke followed by a standard stroke over a sixteenth note. Remember when accenting to make the note with the '>' symbol above it louder than the rest. You can achieve this by lifting your stick slightly higher than normal and pushing down with it a little more.
Various different combinations of accent have been given below and feet have been included with all exercises. If the feet are throwing you off feel free to remove them until you are comfortable with the hand part. Remember to use the single stroke sticking throughout.
- Using the 2 Minute Rule, get all exercises up to a tempo of 140bpm.
- Experiemnt with further combinations of quarter note accents.
- Experiment with various different feet patterns in all exercises.
