This lesson is an orchestrational development of the basic Standard Triplet 16 Beat Groove covered previously in level 3. The linked lesson exaplain the mechanics and movements of the groove so I recomend looking through this first as this lesson just discusses a simple orchestration idea.
The aim of this lesson is to give you an alternate way of playing the groove when needing a slower feel. This is actually really simple as all you need to do is move the back beat to the three count. The hand part for this is shown below:
Before progressing to the grooves below, make sure you are comfortable with the hand placement. The selection of examples that follow all use this sticking and have kicks applied at various points. As with the previous lesson, these start simple and get progressively more difficult. I have used a variety of orchestrations to keep the hand part interesting, make sure you pay close attention to where each stroke is placed.
