In this lesson you will be applying a new rhythm to the single stroke 9. This involves switching the minim at the end of the pattern to a crotchet, causing the rudiment to be slightly shorter. The standard sticking doesn't quite fit within this context, but when played over three bars the start of the rudiment will line up with the start of the bar again. As with all rudiment exercises, use this to develop your technique. You should also ensure all dynamic levels are even.
