Reverse Triplet Accenting Blocks Of Four

In this lesson you will be learning some more complicated accent placements in the reverse triplet where accents fall on blocks of four strokes. When played over the three stroke reverse triplet sticking this creates some syncopated sounds. Remember when accenting to make the note with the '>' symbol above it louder than the rest. You can achieve this by lifting your stick slightly higher than normal and pushing down with it a little more force followed by your usual stick height.

Various different combinations of this movement have been given below. Remember to use the reverse triplet 'R R L' sticking throughout.

  2. Experiemnt with further combinations of quarter note accents.
