Simulating Four On The Floor In 6/8

In this groove idea you will be simulating the Four On The Floor Concept learned back in level 1 and applying it to 6/8 grooves. This won't really be a four on the floor as there will only be two bass drums in the bar but the 'driving' feel of the pattern carries over.

These patterns will be fairly straight forward, you will play a kick on the first count then a snare and kick on the '4' count. Listed below are some examples of this with various right hand patterns applied.

TASKS

  1. Using the 2 minute rule, get all grooves up to a tempo of at least 120bpm.
  2. Create your own variations on these patterns. Write as many down as possible.
  3. Use these patterns as part of a Structured Pattern. This idea works well as both a fill or groove.
