In this free single stroke roll orchestration lesson you will continue learning ideas for orchestrating a single stroke roll. All examples given on this page involve taking a full bar of sixteenth notes and splitting them across various drums in groupings of three, creating syncopation against the blocks of four you would expect in a bar of 4/4. Similar movements have been used in other lessons and you can find links to these at the bottom of the page. You can fit five groupings of three into a bar of 4/4 but the last of these ends on an eighth note and each block will start on a different hand. All strokes should be even in terms of rhythm and dynamics, especially the left hands that start a grouping, pay close attention to this when learning each exercise.
I haven't included any feet in the given parts, experiment with differet ideas starting out with straight rhythms. These will help emphasize the syncopation in the grouping of the hands but also increase the difficulty considerably.
