Triple Stroke Roll Accenting Blocks Of Four

In this lesson you will be learning some more Accent placements for the triple stroke roll. In all of the exercises presented on this page you will be accenting runs of four strokes. Various placements are given below, some starting on the left and some on the right. Remember when accenting to make the note with the '>' symbol above it louder than the rest. You can achieve this by lifting your stick slightly higher than normal and pushing down with it a little more.

These exercises are very difficult due to the switch in dynamic level during a run of three strokes. You are also playing blocks of four over a three stroke sticking, giving some unusual syncopation.
