Syncopated Single Stroke 4 With Eighth Note Feet

In this lesson you will be taking the alternate syncopated rhythm for the single stroke four and applying standard eighth note feet underneath it. In each example you will find the two common eighth note placements and three different stickings are given. While learning each part make sure all note placements are accurate.

TASKS

  • Using the 2 minute rule, get the exercises up to a tempo of at least 135bpm with good hand technique.
  • Use all three sticking patterns with each exercise.
  • Create your own feet patterns for the exercises.
  • Play all 7 exercises as a continuous 6 bar pattern, then repeat.
