Groups Of Imitated Double Kick Twos In 6/8 With The Kick First

In this lesson you will be taking the fills covered in our reverse imitation twos using single strokes lesson (linked below) and switching the time signature to 6/8. You will be playing blocks of four sixteenths in a time signature where you would expect threes or sixes so a syncopated feel is created. It is essential that all four limbs are playing exactly on time and at the same dynamic level, really focus on that here by playing the parts slowly and gradually build up tempo. These kind of fills work well in any genre but are particularly prominent in rock and metal.

In the examples below all fills are written in there full bar version. You can adjust these to half, quarter, three quarter etc... fills by replacing some of the fill with groove.
