In this lesson you will be constructing fills using sixteenth note singles on the feet as a rhythmic base. These fills will be very similar to those covered in the similar lesson using eighth notes on the feet and covering that lesson first will be beneficial to learning these parts. At the bottom of the page you will find a list of lessons you may find helpful when learning these parts.
Having the double kick part underneath is useful for time keeping and can give a fill a bit more energy and complexity. When eighth notes were used it was questionable as to wether double kick would be necessary at certain tempos, however with sixteenth notes it will be much easier to play over two feet in most cases, particularly when the groove preceeding the fill is using a lot of fast double kick parts. The point of using two feet here would be to prevent your parts getting sloppy due to your feet getting tired.
Several examples of fill constuction using this concept are shown below. I have tried to include as many different ideas as possible and have included different lengths of fill as well as different orchestrations and variations on rhythm. Try to take the examples below as suggestions and create as many versions of each example as possible.

TASK
- Using the 2 minute rule, aim to get all given fills up to a tempo of 150bpm.
- Create further variations on these fills.
- Apply these fills to a phrased piece. .
