In this lesson you will be learning an orchestration of the flamadiddle that involves 'planting' the right hand on one drum while the left moves around the kit and in this case the right hand is going to play on the floor tom. With the right hand in this position the left is free to hit most parts of the kit and some interesting movements can be created in this concept. The exercises is great for hand speed and stamina and it makes a good start for fill construction. Having the grace note throw in those extra notes is going to make this concept particularly cool.
Feet have been included all exercises but feel free to remove them while you get comfortable with the hand part. At the bottom fo the page you will find a set of links to other lessons that may be helpful in the learning process.
- Using the 2 Minute Rule, get all exercises up to a tempo of at least 120bpm.
