The aim of these exercises is to get you comfortable with changing the time signature part way through a piece. These exercises are very useful generally as both of these changes are common across all styles of music. If you are interested in playing metal or progressive music (prog. rock / prog. metal etc..) it is almost a standard feature.
The structure for this exercise looks like this:
Written below are ten examples of parts you could play for this structured pattern. I have tried to use a wide variety of ideas for both sections. Remember to repeat each phrases several times over as you need to be able to switch both into and out of the new time signature without any breaks.
