One Beat 16th Note Fills In 6/8

On this page you will learn a simple sixteenth note placement in the time signature of 6/8 that creates some great sounding fills. We have a similar lesson on this same idea but within 4/4 and you can find a link to this at the bottom of the page. To create the part all you will do is play four sixteenth notes over the '5 6' count at the very end of the bar. The rest of the bar up to that point will be groove, just like the quarter bar fill in 4/4 mentioned above. The four sixteenth notes will be played as single strokes (so'R L R L') and will be orchestrated in various ways.

Listed below are five examples of this fill construction idea. Use the given parts as a starting point to create your own four sixteenth note fills in 6/8. At the bottom of the page you will find a list of links to other lessons you may find useful when learning these parts.
