The Double Paradiddle In Groups Of Two

In this lesson you will be learning a double paradiddle orchestration that involves moving the rudiment around the kit in odd numbered groupings. As the part is played as triplets, you would expect groupings of three and six. The exercises presented here though will be in blocks of two. This is a great exercise in hand co ordination and the odd groupings have a really nice sound. The orchestrations themselves will all be very straight forward, it's just the odd placements that makes them a little more complicate.

The intention here is to get your comfortable with moving around the kit in 'blocks' of a set number within this rudiment and you will be expanding on this in later lessons. These patterns will work well as fills without any adjustment. Feet have been included in all exercises but make sure you can play the hand part before adding these in. Remember, a double paradiddle sticking is used throughout.
