Beat 4 Snare Grooves

In this lesson you will be learning a really easy idea for creating a new feel within your grooves. All you will be doing is taking Level 0 Grooves and removing the snare backbeat that falls on the 2 count. That will leave slightly more space in the first part of the groove that creates a feel very similar to Half Time.

Other groove construction concepts can then be applied around that base pattern. So the right and left hand could be orchesrated, the rhythm of the right hand could change, crashes could be added and any other ideas you can think of. Use the examples given below as starting points for you to create further patterns from.

Listed below are all level 0 grooves with this new idea applied. Some simple variations to the right hand have been applied in later examples.
