Paradiddle Diddle Moving Quarter Notes

This lessons follows on from our Paradiddle Diddle Played With Each Hand On A Different Drum lesson. It will be much easier to follow if you are familiar with the content from that lesson. It is also follows the same concept as our lessons using the Single Stroke Roll and Paradiddle.

In this paradiddle diddle orchestration concept all notes will be played on the snare with the exception of those that fall on a numbered count. These notes will be orchestrated around various parts of the kit in various different movements. Because of the way the paradiddle diddle sticking works, the hand that plays each quarter note will be the same each time making it relatively simple. This exercise is great for getting your hands moving around the kit quickly and is also quite a nice fill construction idea.

Remember, you hands will always be playing a paradiddle diddle in all exercises on this page. I have included feet in all exercises, it may be worth removing them whilst you are learning the orchestration then adding them back in later. Experiment with using different feet patterns from our previous lessons.
