Paradiddle Diddle Moving In Blocks Of Six

This lessons follows on from our Paradiddle Diddle With Each Hand On A Different Drum lesson. It will be much easier to follow if you are familiar with the content from that lesson.

Continuing with ideas for orchestrating a paradiddle diddle, in this lesson you will be taking the basic rudiment and splitting it into groups of six. Each of these groups of six will then be played on a different drum. The orchestrations themselves will all be very straight forward as you wil be switching voice each time you restart the rudiment, which coincidentally is on every numbered count.

The intention here is to get your comfortable with moving around the kit in 'blocks' of a set number within this rudiment and you will be expanding on this in later lessons. These patterns will work well as fills without any adjustment. Feet have been included in all exercises but make sure you can play the hand part before adding these in. Remember, a paradiddle diddle sticking is used throughout.
