Flam Accent Moving In Blocks Of 2

This lessons follows on from our Flam Accent and Each Hand On A Different Drum orchestration lessons, it will be much easier to follow if you are familiar with the content from that lesson.

In this flam accent orchestration the rudiment will be moved around the kit in groups of two meaning the pattern will be syncopated. This pattern can get quite difficult as not only are you playing groups of two within a rhythm based on threes there are also grace notes on every beat.

Remember, you hands will always be playing a flam accent in all exercises. In the later exercises the orchestration switches at various points in the bar. I have included feet in all exercises, it may be worth removing them whilst you are learning the orchestration then adding them back in later. Experiment with using different feet patterns from our previous lessons. Don't be afraid to slow these exercises right down.
