A very straight forward orchestration of the drag tap designed to get your hands moving around the kit.
In this lesson you will just be taking the straight drag tap and splitting the hands between two different voices. This is a useful step in the learning process as it can give the rudiment a slightly more melodic feel to it. It is also a good lesson in starting to get your hands moving around the kit as they are moving, but not too much.
Listed below are various orchestrations of the drag tap rudiment as eighth and sixteenth notes, in each the two hands are split over two different drums. For example in the first exercise the right hand stays on the floor tom whilst the left stays on the high tom. The notation can look a little cluttered but once you get how the concept is working they should be quite easy to figure out. Feet are included in all exercises but feel free to remove them while you get familiar with the hand movements.
