Fake Double Kick Groove In 6/8

Apply the fake double kick concept in the time signature of 6/8.

In this groove construction lesson you will be taking the Fake Double Kick movement learned previously and applying it to the time signature of 6/8. The previous lesson focused on the co-ordination elements of the part so it is fairly essential to cover this first. In this lesson I will just be presenting four grooves using the concept, a note on how the groove has been built is included with each pattern. Remember, the part if played open handed.

Example 1

This groove uses eighth note hi hats and the snare is played with the right hand.

Eighth note hi hats, snare with the left.

Example 3

This groove uses dotted quarter note hi hats and the snare is played with the right hand.

Example 4

This groove uses dotted quarter note hi hats and the snare is played with the left hand.
