About Me
My name is Dan Brigstock and I'm a 23 year old private music teacher from Derby, England. I've been playing drums since 1994, and have been teaching them since 1999. I got into playing after friends got me into bands such as Metallica, Nirvana, Muse, 3 Colours Red, Coal Chamber and No Doubt. I got a few lessons and taught my self a load of stuff and after a couple of months I put together a band. It was the usual school kid stuff, but it went on to form All Things Forgotten who were a very big learning experience for me (and alot of fun too ...). You can have a listen at the bottom of this page!Over the last few years my playing has come on along way, mainly thanks to the great teachers I've had, and incredible musicians i've had the pleasure of working with. At the moment I'm working on building up my CV and passing some grades. I think its pretty safe to say that I'm a big rock player, allthough I try to be a good all rounder. Recently I've been playing along to alot of funk and hip hop to try and get that particular feel right, its a tough one when your so used to rock! Equipment
My main kit is a Tame Superstar Hyperdrive in a white finish with black hardware. I use these sizes: 6.5"x10" Rack Tom 7"x12" Rack Tom 12"x14" Floor Tom 14"x16" Floor Tom 18"x22"Kick Drum 5.5"x14" Snare I have a mixture of cymbals at the moment but I'm slowly converting them all to Zildjian A Customs (i like everthing to look the same ;-)). This is what I have right now: 14" Meinl Amun Medium Dry Hi Hats 16" Zildjian A Custom Crash 17" Zildjian A Custom Fast Crash 18" Zildjian A Custom Crash 22" Paiste 2002 Power Ride (the best and only ride i've ever owned, i've no intention of replacing this ever!) I use remo skins (pinstripes on toms, coated emporer on snare and powerstroke 3 on the bass). Tama hardware and Iron Cobra double pedal. Vic firth 5A / 7A sticks and various percusion items. |
