Using the 'A A A B' structure to practice changing from the time signature of 4/4 to 6/8.
This lesson will follow the structure discussed in the 'A A A B' lesson only this time rather then the 'B' being a fill, you are now going to switch to 6/8 for the one bar and continue playing a groove.
The structure for this exercise will look like this:
Written below are five examples of parts you could play for this structured pattern. In all examples the 'B' is a groove in 6/8.
- Using the 2 minute rule, get all phrases up to a tempo of at least 120bpm.
- Create your own versions of these patterns.
