Fills In 6/8 With Mixed Rhythms

Use combinations of 8th and 16th notes to construct fills in the time signature of 6/8.

This lesson is intended as a follow on from our Eighth Note Fills In 6/8 and Sixteenth Note Fills In 6/8 lessons, I would recommend you work through both of these first.

In our previous lessons you have covered playing fills in 6/8 using both 8th notes and 16th notes. You are now going to combine the two to create a variety of new fills. I have included a counting checker for each exercise so you can make sure you have the rhythm correct. Remember 8th notes are counted as numbers in 6/8.
