Inverted Paradiddle In Groups Of Two

In this lesson you will be learning an inverted paradiddle orchestration that involves moving around the kit in set groupings of 2. Similar ideas have been applied with different lengths of grouping and you can find these linked at the bottom of the page. The sticking for the rudiment makes this grouping awkward to play as you will often be switching voice mid way through a double stroke, a movement that is usually avoided. This creates a good exercise in hand speed and accuracy but it is worth starting out at a low tempo to ensure all note placements as accurate.

Feet have been included in all exercises. For this concept it is acceptable to use the same drum twice within a bar as long as two groups of two aren't played on the same drum in a row. For example '2x Snare, 2x High Tom, 2x Mid Tom, 2x Snare' is acceptable but '2x Snare, 2x Snare, 2x High Tom, 2x Mid Tom' is not.
