Inverted Paradiddle In Groups Of Four

Continuing with ideas for orchestrating an inverted paradiddle, in this lesson you will be taking the basic rudiment as sixteenth notes and splitting it into groups of four. Each of these groups of four will then be played on a different drum. The intention here is to get your comfortable with moving the rudiment around the kit in 'blocks' of a set number whilst playing inverted paradiddles and you will be expanding on this in later lessons. These patterns will work well as fills without any adjustment, but as with the double stroke roll a single stroke sticking would be more appropriate in that situation.

Feet have been included all exercises but if you are struggling with the movements, remove these and add them back in later on. At the bottom of the page you will find a list of links to lessons you may find useful when learning these parts.
