The Paradiddle Diddle With Moving Double Strokes

This lessons follows on from our Paradiddle Diddle With Moving Single Strokes lesson. It will be much easier to follow if you are familiar with the content from that lesson. It follows a similar concept to the Moving Quarters lesson covered for the standard paradiddle also.

In this paradiddle diddle orchestration concept all notes will be played on the snare with the exception of those that fall as a double. These notes will be orchestrated around various parts of the kit in various different movements. This exercise is great for getting your hands moving around the kit quickly and is also quite a nice fill construction idea. You will quickly notice that there are far more notes moved around the kit than played on the snare!

Remember, you hands will always be playing a paradiddle diddle in all exercises on this page. I have included feet in all exercises, it may be worth removing them whilst you are learning the orchestration then adding them back in later. Experiment with using different feet patterns from our previous lessons.
