Standard Triplet With Moving Quarter Notes

This lessons is another orchestration of our Standard Triplet rudiment lesson. It will be much easier to follow if you are familiar with the content from that lesson.

This orchestration is very straight forward. The rudiment will be played all on the snare, with the exception of the quarter note counts which will move around various parts of the kit. If you think about the standard triplet sticking you will notice that this means the right hand will be moving around whilst the left stays on the snare. The main intention with this rudiment orchestration is to emphasize how a standard triplet keeps the leading hand playing on the beat, unlike the Single Stroke Triplet which switches leading hand on every beat. It is also generally useful for familiarizing you with the rudiment and ideas for using it within fill construction.

Feet have been included in all exercises but only as quarter notes.
